No way is it Boyle over

HIBERNIAN winger Martin Boyle is planning to put his derby pain behind him by boosting his World Cup hopes with Australia.

Boyle concedes the chances he has missed in recent games, including the effort that came off the bar in last Saturday's late defeat to Hearts, have been “eating away’ at him.

But the playmaker is hoping to hit the goal trail with the Socceroos as they prepare for tomorrow's friendly against Canada and next Wednesday's clash with the USA.

Tony Popovic’ side have already sealed their place at the World Cup in North America and Boyle knows hitting form for Hibs is key to making sure he keeps his spot in the squad.

He said: “I have to keep performing at club level - scoring goals and assists is what I'm paid to do.

“I have to do that, keep working hard and not get caught up in the moment.
