MP 'seriously alarmed' by 'aggressive' ex-Met doctor

VETERAN Labour MP Emily Thornberry suffered serious alarm and distress when she was “stalked” by an ex-Met Police doctor, a court heard yesterday.

Dr Suzanne Lucey, 56, turned up at the MP's constituency office and demanded a face-to-face meeting before beginning a campaign of harassment, the prosecution claimed.

She denies stalking, with the charge sheet alleging she “pursued a course of conduct, namely following [Ms Thornberry], sending emails and aggressive outbursts, which amounted to stalking, causing her serious alarm or distress, which had a substantial adverse effect on her usual day-to-day activities”.
