Man charged for chainsaw attack 'is now a woman'

THE Crown Office has been accused of being “in thrall to the SNP’s reckless gender policy” after allowing a chainsaw attacker to self-identify as a woman at court.

Donald Sandilands was arrested and charged as a man over an attempted murder in Kinross in February this year.

But during an appearance at Edinburgh High Court yesterday, the judge was told that he is known as Donna, and the Advocate Deputy used the pronouns ‘she/her’.

It is not known whether the crime will be registered as having been committed by a male or female.

Sandilands attacked an 80-year-old man with a chainsaw in a dispute about a tractor. He was initially arrested and charged as Donald Sandilands after the incident on February 9.
