CELTIC are facing a major injury sweat over Kasper Schmeichel after the Dane ended up in A&E on international duty.

The Hoops No.1 was sent for X-rays after busting his left shoulder in Denmark’s dramatic 5-2 Nations League extra-time defeat to Portugal on Sunday.

Initial tests suggested the damage is not as bad as first feared but the 38-year-old will need further checks and must be considered a doubt for Celtic’s return to league business against Hearts on Saturday.

Schmeichel will check into the Lennoxtown training centre in the next 24 hours to be assessed by club medics having left Lisbon yesterday with his arm in a sling.
