Views from town where pair raped girl, aged 15

RESIDENTS in Leamington Spa have been left reeling by the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

CCTV released by police showed her being marched down a path in the pretty Regency town before she was attacked by Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, now both 17.

A court heard that the distressing footage showed the staggering girl being pushed towards a green space called Newbold Comyn where they raped her.

Jahanzeb and Niazal, who admitted the May 10 attack at a hearing in October, have been jailed for 10 and nine years respectively.

The Daily Express found the site shown on CCTV, near a bridge over the River Leam by a popular park called Jephson Gardens. The camera which caught the two teenage boys and their victim can clearly be seen covering the bridge they used.

At the spot where the three were filmed, a woman who did not want to be named said she had not realised the incident had happened there until the court case and the naming of the attackers.

She added: "It was a shock, it seems to be every other day now we hear about an asylum seeker committing these kinds of crimes, it's really scary. What got me was that a [lawyer] of one of them actually suggested he might settle down here afterwards...do these people have any decency? It's disgusting.
