Husband jailed for life over fatal garden attack

AN abusive husband who murdered his wife with a garden tool just weeks after an earlier case against him collapsed has been jailed for at least 18 years.

Kasikai Chinyanga killed Veronica as she begged for her life when her he turned on her in the back garden of their home.

The killing, at the house in Broxburn, West Lothian last June came after the mother had predicted her husband may not forgive her for previously reporting him to police.

The 42-year-old was repeat-edly struck with a pronged garden tool before being stabbed in the stomach with a knife. Part of the attack was captured on CCTV footage which was played to the jury.

Chinyanga yesterday returned to the High Court in Glasgow having earlier admitted to the murder.
