Heroic dog gives blood to save pup

A DOG was hailed a hero after donating blood to save the life of a desperately ill puppy.

Old English foxhound Cannock saved cocker spaniel Rosco when he suffered internal bleeding.

Veterinary nurse Kirsty Thompson was treating the four-month-old pup born with a rare genetic condition.

Rosco needed an urgent blood transfusion to have any chance of surviving.

Kirsty contacted Croome and West Warwickshire Hunt, asking if one of their trail hounds would be able to donate blood.
