JIM GOODWIN knows taking Dundee United into Europe would significantly strengthen his hand when it comes to the summer transfer window.

Goodwin knows a European spot will help transfer bids

United currently sit fourth in the Premiership and if they can keep themselves there then it would be enough to clinch Europa Conference League football.

Fifth could also be enough if Celtic or Aberdeen were to win the Scottish Cup.

Goodwin, above, knows United have a rich European history and it could help to entice an even better quality of player.

Goodwin said: "Dundee United in Scotland is a big draw as it is, when they're playing in the Scottish Premiership. People recognise the history of the club, the facilities and the fanbase that exists here and competing in European football makes that task of signing good quality players a little bit easier because everybody wants to test themselves at the highest level.
