Glad to be a berk of art

IT'S BEEN a while since I took a stroll around an art gallery, but whenever I watch an episode of FAKE OR FORTUNE (9pm, BBC1), I start thinking I should put that near the top of my to-do list.

Maybe even as high as third, priority-wise, after (1) booking my car in for its MOT, and (2) getting a man in to deal with whatever's growing on our bathroom ceiling.

The sheer unbridled enthusiasm of Philip Mould (by that I mean his enthusiasm, as this show's co-presenter, for fine works of art, not his enthusiasm for sorting our bathroom ceiling out, although admittedly his surname does makes him sound like just the man for that job) is what I find so infectious.

Philip will point out aspects of paintings which would otherwise have passed me by.
