Four dead as drones blast flats

AT least four people have been killed and dozens injured in a massive overnight air attack targeting the Ukrainian capital that saw 430 drones and 18 missiles pummel the city from midnight until sunrise.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the strike "despicable".

Fires raged in high-rise apartment blocks hit by drones as streets below lay covered in smouldering debris.

Nearly every district of the city came under fire, and five people have been hospitalised, including one man in a critical condition and a pregnant woman. Two children, aged seven and 10, were among the injured.
