DOLCEK IN PLEA TO BE DOMINANT

IVAN DOLCEK insists Dundee United will approach their Conference League tie as if it is goalless and go out and sink UNA Strassen again.

- By Scott Burns

Zac Sapsford’s goal made the difference for Jim Goodwin’s side at Tannadice ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Luxembourg.

And Dolcek believes they need to go and finish the job in style, rather than trying to protect their slender advantage.

United know if they get through they are likely to face Rapid Vienna in the third qualifying round, with the Austrians currently 2-0 up after their away trip to Decic.

Dolcek isn’t thinking beyond the test that awaits in the Stade Municipal in Differdange.

The Croatian left-back said: “We have to go positive and play with the mindset that it is 0-0 and do everything to win.

“Tt will be very hard. Every match is a new challenge and the game plan changes as well.”

The 25-year-old has a lot more European experience than most at Tannadice thanks to his spell at Hajduk Split.

He hopes that can help him guide his teammates through against Strassen and knows their opponents will fight tooth and nail to turn the tie around.
