Calming the storm is Thelin's tour de force

GRAEME SHINNIE has praised boss Jimmy Thelin for staying calm and guiding Aberdeen through their nightmare Premiership start.

The Dons had registered just one point and hadn't scored a goal in their first six games before the floodgates opened in last weekend's 4-0 win over Dundee.

Thelin was under massive pressure from the outside but his captain revealed how the Swede stuck to this principles and kept everyone at Pittodrie focused on turning their fortunes around.

"Yes, it was testing," said Shinnie. "In football, you've got to stay in the middle ground.

"You can't get too high when it's going well and you don't want to get too low when things aren't going your way.

"The manager here is a prime example of that. He's very good at keeping everyone levelheaded in the dressing room."
