Brutal 7-hour blitz on Kyiv
Scottish Daily Express
|July 05, 2025
KYIV was pounded by waves of overnight drone and missile attacks in the largest aerial assault since Russia's invasion of Ukraine more than three years ago.
The seven-hour onslaught, which inflicted severe damage across the capital, killed at least one person and wounded about 26 others, including a child.
Flames from huge blasts lit up the night sky, air raid sirens wailed and debris blocked streets.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said: “It was a harsh, sleepless night.”
The attack comes as Russia steps up its long-range attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Less than a week ago, the Kremlin launched what was then the largest aerial assault of the war.
