Brits plea to end donkey rides in Spanish hotspot

HORRIFIED holidaymakers are calling on a Spanish town to stop using “emaciated-looking” donkeys for tourist rides after photos showed some “standing in their own urine”.
Clare Meaning, 48, travelled to La Cala de Mijas in the Costa del Sol, but left the hillside town feeling upset by what she saw.
She alerted the Born Free charity, while People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have been lobbying the Mijas mayor to end the rides.
Expats have now joined the calls, after dozens of Tripadvisor reviews slammed the activity and called for big changes.
