Goodwin: Gers have to feed striker

JIM GOODWIN insists Bojan Miovski can solve Rangers goalscoring problems if they give him the service he needs.

The struggling Light Blues have been scrambling for a new manager since sacking Russell Martin before the international break.

Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is among the candidates under consideration, with number one target Steven Gerrard having pulled out of the running just a couple of days after opening talks with club chiefs.

Martin was relieved of his duties with Gers sitting a lowly eighth in the Premiership table with just six goals in seven fixtures. Only St Mirren and bottom club Aberdeen have scored fewer times.

Goodwin's Dundee United side could be the first opponents for their next manager when he takes his side to Ibrox on Saturday.

And having managed Miovski when the pair were at Aberdeen, he is in no doubt the striker has the penalty-box acumen to get Gers firing again.

The 26-year-old was far from a well-known name when Goodwin plucked him from Bulgarian football in 2022 fora fee of little more than £500,000.

Miovski was a massive hit at Pittodrie, scoring 44 goals in 98 appearances to earn a £6.8million move to Girona in 2024 - a club record sale for the Dons.
