Bob puts on show for home fans as Cup heroes shine

EUROPE’S Ryder Cup heroes put the fatigue of Bethpage to one side to make a great start to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, below, and Bob Macintyre, above, fired six-under-par 66s to sit three strokes off the first round lead with teammates Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick both weighing in with 67s.

Macintyre admitted it was tough to reboot after the experience of New York but was delighted to put on a show for the massed ranks of home fans who packed in ona post-Ryder Cup high.
