LEON BALOGUN is willing to sit tight and wait on a Rangers contract offer while the club’s prospective new owners finalise their takeover.

The veteran centre-half is one of the few Gers performers who can hold his head high after a wretched campaign.

And despite turning 37 in six weeks, the former Nigeria international believes he’s got another season in him at least.

However, with his contract expiring at the end of this month, Balogun still has no idea if he has a future at Ibrox.

He could be in for a long wait to find out, with the American buyout likely to be concluded in June and a decision on who will be managing the team still up in the air.

Asked if he was prepared to hang fire in the hope a deal will eventually be put on the table, Balogun replied: “I think I have no choice.

“I’m very blessed that my father from a young age taught me the value of patience.

“So, I’m just going to have patience as always, as I’ve had all my life, with many things and then I just have to see what’s happening.
