'Ample grounds for Peggie to appeal' as women's campaigners demand clarity

SANDIE PEGGIE has “grounds to appeal” the NHS Fife tribunal decision after she secured a partial victory against her employers.

She originally put in claims for discrimination, indirect discrimination, victimisation, sexual harassment and harassment, but all except the final allegation were dismissed.

In a written ruling, the judge revealed that while the panel had considered the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the definition of a woman, they decided that it wasn’t relevant in this case. It has left the door open for public bodies and organisations to continue to allow biological males use single-sex female facilities.
