£9m 'Breaking Bad' engineer locked up

AN ENGINEER who turned to drug dealing to ease worries about providing for his family made almost £9million from his life of crime, a court has heard.

Craig Dineen began dabbling in the narcotics trade because he was worried about not being able to keep his loved ones in comfort.

But the High Court in Edinburgh was told that he was so successful at supplying cannabis he was able to buy a £100,000 Range Rover.

In a story similar to the plot of hit TV show Breaking Bad, the court was told how the 33-year-old and his associates supplied more than a tonne of the drug.

Yesterday, lawyers for both the prosecution and defence settled a Proceeds of Crime action which had previously been brought against Dineen.
