Pennsylvania Department of Health alerts families to recall of ByHeart infant formula due to Botulism investigation

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) is informing residents that there are currently 13 cases of infant botulism associated with ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula across 10 states.
-
This milk-based powder formula, which contains iron, is intended for infants from birth to 12 months.One infant in Pennsylvania, who reportedly consumed the affected ByHeart formula, was hospitalized in October and is now recovering.
DOH is collaborating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other states in the ongoing investigation.
