GEMINI MAY 21 - JUNE 21

- by Adelaide Abdur-Rahman

Black History Corner

Gemini (The Chatterbox) Smart and witty. Outgoing, very chatty. Lively, energetic. Adaptable but needs to express themselves. Argumentative and outspoken. Like change. Versatile. Busy, sometimes nervous and tense. Gossips. May seem superficial or inconsistent. Beautiful physically and mentally.

The Alexandrite, Moonstone and Pearl are stones for the month of June

Each of these stones represents different qualities of the people born in June. Health and longevity are achieved through Alexandrite. Moonstones are used to help achieve new beginnings, horizons and improved emotions. Pearls are symbolic of modesty, purity friendship, loyalty, and faithfulness; they inspire honesty, innocence and love. Pearls were often thought to bring martial bliss to their wearers. Pearls are also representative of enhancing personal integrity and are thought to have healing properties that relate to heart, stomach, intestine, ulcer, and spleen problems. It was said that pearls can help one gain self-knowledge and feelings of self-worth and enable one to accept love. In the Hindu religion, the presentation of an undrilled pearl has become part of the marriage ceremony. Until the beginning of the 19th century pearls were extremely rare. It was considered to be a good harvest if, out of 100 oysters, one pearl was found.

June 5

You have very definite emotions, love deeply, and hate intensely. You play wholeheartedly and work with enthusiasm and concentration. You make and act upon all decisions quickly. Usually kind and thoughtful, you sometimes speak brusquely and harshly under provocation.

1832 (Elizabeth) Ka’ahumanu, queen consort and also regent of the Kingdom of Hawaii, dies in Manoa Valley, Oahu.
