Retail inflation dips to 6-year low of 3.34%

Retail inflation in India has fallen to a nearly six-year low of 3.34 per cent in March 2025, attributed to a decrease in prices of vegetables and protein-rich items.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate was recorded at 3.61 per cent in February and 4.85 per cent in March 2024, marking the lowest rate since August 2019, when it stood at 3.28 per cent. Food inflation also eased to 2.69 per cent in March compared to 3.75 per cent the previous month and a significant 8.52 per cent a year ago.
