Dad’s running raises more than £4k

A RUNCORN dad has raised more than £4,000 for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity after completing an extraordinary running challenge in memory of his wife.

Michael Donnelly ran 100km in one day to help other patients and say thank you to staff after losing his wife Charlotte to renal cancer.

Michael has now raised an incredible £4,350 after completing eight laps of a 12.5km route near his home.

He said: “It was an amazing day with some great moments and I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.

“On the morning of the run I was joined by a local running group, the Silverbacks, and around 15 of us started together. Later, work colleagues of Charlotte’s who were keen to join in were there.”

Michael also had the support of Runcorn’s famous Pink Tutu Guy David Ash, who is well known for raising tens of thousands of pounds for charity while running in his famous costume in the area.
