Funding will allow sports centre to 'decarbonise'
Rossendale Free Press
|May 02, 2025
A LEISURE centre will benefit from funding which will allow for the full decarbonisation of the facility.
-
Marl Pits Leisure Centre in Rawtenstall will be transformed with major upgrades including the replacement of gas-fired boilers with efficient air source heat pumps and enhancements to the existing solar photovoltaic (PV) system.
These upgrades will be funded by the £1.4m from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme which Rossendale Borough Council secured, delivered by Salix Finance and run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
