Probes after two inmates die in prisons

INVESTIGATIONS have been launched after the deaths of two inmates at prisons in Greater Manchester.
A 64 year-old man died at HMP Buckley Hall, near Rochdale, and a 32 year-old man died at HMP Manchester, commonly known as Strangeways.
Both tragedies have been confirmed by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman (PPO). Only limited details have been revealed, but the watchdog said official investigations into both deaths were now underway.
The independent ombudsman - the PPO - investigates all deaths in custody and deaths post-release on certain occasions.
