Groomers ‘face UK deportation’
Rochdale Observer
|September 03, 2025
TWO members of a Rochdale grooming gang - jailed 13-years-ago for horrific crimes against children - may soon be deported, according to reports.
It comes after the town's MP Paul Waugh spoke of his ‘utter outrage’ recently that the pair have thwarted several attempts to send them back to their native Pakistan.
Greater Manchester's deputy mayor Kate Green expressed her concern about the situation earlier this year raised the issue with Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper.
Adil Khan, 54, and Abdul Rauf, 55, were among nine gang members jailed in 2012 for their part in a gang of Asian men who plied vulnerable white girls with drink and then shared them with other abusers at sick gatherings across the north.
Khan, then in his 40s, impregnated one girl, refusing to accept the child was his until a DNA test was done. He then met the other girl he trafficked to others for sex, using violence when she objected. He was sentenced to eight years in 2012 and released on licence four years later.
Rauf trafficked a 15-year-old girl for sex, driving her to secluded areas to have sex with her in his taxi and ferrying her to a flat in Rochdale where he and others had sex with her. He was jailed for six years and released in November 2014 after serving two years and six months of his sentence.
