Firm transforms school allotment

A CIVIL ENGINEERING firm transformed a school’s allotment.

All Souls CE Primary School, Heywood, benefited from the scheme.

A spokesman for George Cox & Sons Ltd said: “As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering social value through our Rochdale Borough Council Highway Framework Agreement, George Cox & Sons recently undertook a community-led initiative in the Heywood area, close to our works on the South Heywood Link Road.

“We engaged with a local primary school within a few miles of the site, where staff had identified a disused and overgrown allotment space that was in need of regeneration.

“Rather than simply carrying out the works, we saw an opportunity to do something more meaningful by involving the children directly in the project.
