Aggressive bull rescued amid rising stray cattle menace in Kangra

The Department of Animal Husbandry, Nagrota Surian, rescued an aggressive bull that had been posing a threat to the residents of Nandpur village in Haripur tehsil of Kangra district.

Over the past few weeks, the animal had caused extensive damage to standing crops and attacked passersby, spreading fear and insecurity among villagers. A team, led by veterinary officer Dr Rajiv, tranquilised the bull after a strenuous operation that lasted more than four hours. The animal was later removed from the area to prevent further harm. Villagers said that several other stray bulls were also roaming in distressing conditions, many bearing deep wounds and limping. Preliminary observations suggested that these injuries were sustained during repeated incursions into agricultural fields, where these animals reportedly faced retaliation from the affected farmers.
