Well done, Keshav Maharaj

I REMEMBER fondly cradling Keshav Maharaj in my arms when he was just a few days old, at the Hindu ritual of what is referred to as chutee (sic) at his parent’s home in Redhill.

Without the privilege of foresight, little did I know that this was a bundle of talent that would one day traipse the world stage in glory and accolade.

And so it was that the start of the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a gorgeous butterfly began.

Having been graced with the “men’s player of the year” award at the Cricket South Africa professional awards for the 2024/5 season, the vindication of this talent had realised the fruits of the seeds sown so many years ago.
