Librarian honoured with prestigious national award

Local resident Karabo Maimela, who is stationed as a librarian at the Molepo Community Library under the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, has been awarded the prestigious Library and Information Association of South Africa (Liasa) - Nevada LMS Emerging Librarian Award 2025.

Maimela received the honour during the Liasa Annual Conference gala dinner held last Friday at the Boardwalk Hotel, Casino and Convention Centre in Gqeberha. The award recognises her outstanding contribution, leadership, mentoring and commitment to the library and information services profession in South Africa.
