LGBTQIA+ rep voices concerns at National Dialogue

Thato Kgobe, a representative of the LGBTQIA+ community in the province, has called for urgent legal and policy reforms following her participation in the National Dialogue convention held at Unisa's Pretoria campus over the weekend.

Kgobe, a transgender woman from the city, joined other representatives of marginalised groups to highlight challenges facing the communities and propose solutions.

The organisers said the dialogue, which will continue through local conversations and future conventions, seeks to address South Africa's most pressing challenges.

In her address, Kgobe criticised delays at the Department of Home Affairs in processing gender marker changes on identity documents.
