Finding the right agent to sell your home

According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), some 89% of all homes in the USA are sold by estate agents.
Figures are very similar in South Africa since sales by owners are not so prevalent, and most residential properties are sold by estate agents, according to Samuel Seeff, chairman of the Seeff Property Group.
It is therefore prudent to conclude that the successful sale of your property starts with appointing the right agent for the task, he says.
When selling, you would ideally want to look for someone with a track record of experience in selling similar properties.
Choosing the wrong agent could delay the sale as you would likely need to appoint another agent and start the process all over again.
Seeff gives some advice on what to consider and ask the agents:
• Start by researching agents who specialise in the area.
