Every first Saturday of the month, the quiet stretch of Belvedere Road in Claremont buzzes with life. Biblio-philes, families, and loyal supporters stream through the gates of 89 Belvedere Road, where tables of second-hand books beckon.

But behind the charm of bargain hunting lies a purpose with profound impact, each book sold helps fund the training of guide dogs for people living with visual impairments.On Saturday 10 June the much loved second-hand bookshop will be hosted by the South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind. From 09:00 to 15:00, visitors can browse an array of affordable titles, thrillers, cookbooks, biographies, classics and more. However, one crucial section is in desperate need of replenishment: the children’s book section.
