It has been confirmed an extra £2.7 million has been directed to the budget - across additional support needs (ASN) and mainstream provision - in the past two years.

That's according to a report by Alastair MacArthur, director of finance and resources, which was discussed at Thursday's full council meeting.

It said: “Members will recall that in recent years this budget has come under severe pressure as tendered costs increase from private providers.
