Primary achieves top marks in inspection

A school in Erskine has been celebrated by Renfrewshire councillors after its performance during an inspection earlier this year.

Elected members noted the key strengths of Rashielea Primary School at a meeting of the education and children’s services policy board on Thursday.

Education Scotland graded the school ‘very good’ across leadership of change; learning, teaching and assessment; ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion; and raising attainment and achievement in August.

SNP council leader Iain Nicolson, who represents Erskine and Inchinnan, said: “It’s a highly regarded school in Erskine, it always has been.

“This proves the point when you get four ‘very goods’ Congratulations to the school for that achievement.

“I think as well it will go on to greater and bigger things because of the activity levels of the parent council and the head teacher and staff. They're very good at what they do.”
