Unexpected turns as the season draws toan end

Players dart towards last league matches

Paisley and District dart players fulfilled their last league fixtures - and safe to say there were the usual shocks and surprises.

In Division One, Hagg Bar A cemented their place as league champions when they travelled to take on their Howwood neighbours at The Midton.

‘The game was notall plain sailing for the title winners, however, as they had to battle from 4-3 down to win the match, with Stuart Christie and his captain Evander Stevenson being pushed to a third doubles leg before they could triumph.

‘The loss for The Midton means they end the season in seventh spot.

Pockets Acompleted the campaignin second place witha dominating7-2win away at Callums, while the loss for latter confirmed relegation to Division Two.

Clachan Arrows finish third in the table aftera close 5-4 away win at Flying Horse with the Horse team pushing the Arrows all the way toa last doubles decider.

The defeat for Flying Horse didn’t adversely affect their position as they still finish fourth in the standings.

Court Barhad to win their away game at Hagg Bar Cto keep hold of fifth place from last week and, with the contesttied at 3-3 after the singles games, success was no guarantee.
