Peak train tickets slashed from September

Peak rail fares will be wiped from Renfrewshire train stations from September 1, ScotRail has confirmed.

The move - announced by the Scottish Government earlier this year - will see rail fares between Johnstone, Paisley and Glasgow slashed by at least 30 per cent.

It means an open day return between Paisley Gilmour Street will drop from £7.50 to £5.10 during peak travel times, a reduction of 32 per cent.

For those travelling from Johnstone train station to Glasgow Central, the fee will drop from £9.50 to £6.10-a decrease of 35 per cent.
