St Mirren Women's Player of the Year just couldn't believe that she'd won the accolade

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Being crowned St Mirren Women's player of the year "didn't feel real", says Nikki Lavery after a stellar season.

The Saints' annual awards dinner took place at the Ingliston Estate and Country Club, which hosted the event for the first time.

Striker Lavery netted 10 goals in what has been a campaign of two halves.

The teen joined the club in the summer and has made a huge impact this season, but winning the award still shocked the forward.

"It definitely was one of those experiences that doesn't feel real," she told the Express. "It was a really positive and really happy occasion, especially after what I'd say was quite a tough second half of the season.

"It's something positive to look back on the season.
