Mayet bids farewell to Ferguslie with another century

Ferguslie Cricket Club took on the elements - as well as opponents Glasgow High-Kelvinside - in their final Western Premiership One fixture of the season.

But despite a sterling effort by both teams at Meikleriggs on Saturday, the weather was once again the only winner.

And that has been a regular outcome this season as the match was eventually abandoned with the hosts in a promising position.

Ferguslie again selected youngsters Ethan Hebberman and James McKechnie from the championship-winning Under-16s side.

The home side batted first with David Stafford and Mo Mayet, the latter playing in his last match before returning to South Africa, putting on 67 for the first wicket.

Stafford was then bowled which heralded the arrival of Uzair Ahmad at the crease.
