Determined defender wants St Mirren to make it all the way to Hampden stadium next season

Marcus Fraser is desperate to lead St Mirren to Hampden.

The Buddies have enjoyed their best spell in almost 40 years by recording a hat-trick of top-six Premiership finishes and playing in Europe.

But reaching the national stadium in the Scottish Cup or League Cup has eluded Stephen Robinson and his players.

Experienced defender Fraser wants that all to change having picked up a winner's medal of his own almost a decade ago.

He was just 21 when he helped Ross County beat Hibernian 2-1 in the final of the League Cup in 2016.

Michael Gardyne's opener for the Staggies was cancelled out by Liam Fontaine but Alex Schalk's last-minute goal took the trophy back up the A9.
