George aiming for ultimate tribute to beloved Bill
-
Shamal George insists he has endured the worst week of his life.
The St Mirren keeper attended the funeral of his much-loved grandad, Bill, before the 3-3 draw at Aberdeen in midweek.
The 27-year-old has played with a heavy heart since Bill sadly passed away early last month.
He was between the sticks again on Saturday as he kept a clean sheet in his side's 2-0 win over Dundee United which ended a run of eight Premiership matches without a victory.
"I've had a few off-the-pitch things," George explained. "I lost someone close to me and I've been playing throughout.
"I don't want to use that as an excuse because my performances haven't been what they were before.
"He passed away so it's been probably the worst week of my life.
