Itwas the official start ofthe 20205/26season on Monday night for playersin the Paisley & District Darts League.

The new campaign actually kicked off with the P&D League Cup last week with 10 teams taking partin round one, and the winners progressing to make up the last 16.

But a full card of league fixtures felt like the action was properly getting underway.

In Division One, there were two new teams following the promotion of The Clippens and Pockets Bat the end oflast season.

Hagg Bar A are reigning league champions and they started their title defence with a home game against The Midton, and it was the home team that held the upper hand, as they raced intoa3-Olead.

The Midton rallied and brought it back to 3-2 but thechampsthattookthe last of the singles games to lead 4-2. Inthe doubles matches, there was a clean sweep for Hagg Bar A who ran out 7-2 winners.

Hashtag Bar hosted Tartan Thunderin their openerand showed theywill be aforceto bereckoned withas theyran out8-1 winnersovertoclaim top spot - Ryan McGregor was the only visiting player in the winners’ column.

Flying Horse sit in second place after their 7-2 triumph against Hagg Bar C with the points going tothe Barrhead outfit before their opponents got awin onthe board.
