Johnstone return to league action facing mountain of games to catch up

- COLIN PATERSON

Johnstone Burgh will take a step towards easing their fixture congestion by returning to West of Scotland League Premier Division action today.

Murdo MacKinnon's men have endured a frustrating period since the festive break.

As well as the cold snap in early January, the club's Communities Cup trip to Dundee Violet has been postponed several times.

The game, scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed yet again so Burgh have hastilyarranged the visit of Largs Thistle to Keanie Park.

Burgh have played just once since Christmas and not kicked a ball in anger on home turf since the 2-0 victory over Renfrew in the Communities Cup - formerly known as the Junior Cup.
