AMIDS home of innovation

Our ambition for the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District located near Glasgow Airport (AMIDS) is for it to be Scotland's home of manufacturing innovation.

The recent announcement that United States aviation company ZeroAvia will build a major manufacturing facility and Hydrogen Centre of Excellence brings us closer to that goal.

This news is exciting as the company strives to develop the world’s first zero-emission engines for commercial aviation.

The types of businesses locating at AMIDS not only bring high-quality jobs and private investment to the area, it also serves to inspire the next generation as they consider their future and see the incredible opportunities available in Renfrewshire.

In other news, I was delighted to attend the opening of the new Renfrew Bridge recently as we marked the completion of the Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside project.
