Lenny Scott, 33, was killed after being shot six times outside a gym on Peel Road in Skelmersdale on February 8 last year.

Elias Morgan and Anthony Cleary are currently standing trial at Preston Crown Court, accused of his murder.

Morgan is alleged to have been the shooter in what has been described as an “act of retaliation”, nearly four years after Scott exposed an inappropriate relationship between Morgan, then a prisoner, and a female staff member named Sarah Williams.

Lenny, a father-of-three, reportedly declined a £1,500 bribe to overlook a mobile phone that Morgan had illicitly in prison, which contained evidence of the affair.

This led to Morgan, 35, allegedly threatening him with the words “I'll bide my time, but I promise I will get you”.

Cleary, 29, is accused of aiding the shooter by providing a van and an e-bike used in the shooting.

Prosecutor Alex Leach KC presented a detailed timeline to the jury on Thursday afternoon (July 3), focusing on the aftermath of Mr Scott's shooting.
