In a significant breakthrough in the Pahalgam terror attack probe, Indian security agencies have confirmed the Pakistani nationality of the three terrorists involved in the July 28 encounter near Srinagar.

The confirmation comes through a combination of biometric data, official Pakistani documents, and digital evidence, officials said Monday.

The three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commanders—Suleman Shah alias “Faizal Jatt,” Abu Hamza alias “Afghan,” and Yasir alias “Jibran”—were identified as Pakistani nationals and hardcore militants. Shah, the lead shooter and mastermind, was listed as an A++ category terrorist. Hamza and Yasir were both classified as A-grade commanders.

The trio were killed in ‘Operation Mahadev,’ a joint effort by the Army’s Para SF unit, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police. They had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest belt since the April 22 attack on tourists in Baisaran meadow, Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives.
