In a significant ruling aimed at streamlining the handling of illegal immigrants and foreign nationals involved in criminal cases, Orissa High Court has issued a comprehensive set of guidelines, including setting up of detention centres, to the state government and subordinate authorities for dealing with such cases in a uniform and legally compliant manner.
The guidelines were issued by the single bench of Justice G Satapathy while hearing a matter relating to foreign nationals staying illegally in the country.
