CM launches 650-bed facility at Koraput hosp

In a major fillip to healthcare in southern Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Sunday inaugurated a new building with 650 beds at Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput. Majhi also announced that his government will develop a six-lane highway, the Jeypore-Bermhapur-Bhubaneswar ‘economic corridor’.
He said the new building at the hospital has been built at a cost of ₹280 crore.
“The state government has been making available all facilities at the medical college, so that people of Koraput and adjoining areas do not have to travel to distant cities for healthcare services,” he said.
