CROSS HOUSE IS GIVEN DEADLINE TO IMPROVE

- By RUCSANDRA MOLDOVEANU

A PERSONAL care service for the county's children and young people is now in special measures.

Cross House, also known as Headzpace, has been rated “inadequate” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after its latest inspection in May.

The service provides personal care and support to children and young adults in their homes. Many of its clients have a learning disability, autism or other mental health needs.

The CQC findings, published last week, revealed the Beeston based service was not well led. The provider, Headzpace Therapeutic Care Limited, had poor oversight of the service to identify risks or concerns to make necessary improvements.

Cross House was last rated “requires improvement” in 2023 after “significant and widespread” concerns of poor management, risk management, governance and oversight.

The provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to good governance at the time.
