Urgent plea as city youth group 'at breaking point'

THE founder of a city youth outreach group says it could close within three months due to the scale of funding pulled from the project.

Ben Rosser, chief executive of the Pythian Club, who has worked to transform the lives of countless young people for more than a decade, has now issued a desperate plea for help.

After being hit with a 60 percent cut to their funding over the past three years, Mr Rosser said: “It’s about the safety, well-being and future of our young people.

“Our staff have gone above and beyond because they believe in the mission, but we are reaching a breaking point,” he said. “If nothing changes, I may be forced to make the difficult decision to close. We are calling on our local authorities, partners, and wider community to step in before it’s too late.”
